Grey's Anatomy - The Music Event [Songs]
Katy Perry- "E.T." [Music Video Edit w/o Kanye West]
Now that I see this edit without Kanye, I wonder why they even added him on at all in the first place? The song and the video are just as strong-if not stronger-without him. At the end of the day, this video is great! It may not have the strongest story line, but it is visually stunning. With this era, Katy has really made her mark as a real artist and she's here to stay. Take notes Ke$ha!

Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Headed to #1!
Britney Spears is back… and on top of the album charts for next week, as her new Jive/JLG album, Femme Fatale looks set to score sales in the 275-300k range.
Good numbers, although this is a far cry from the 500k she pulled in with her album Circus in late 2008.

Katy Perry Scores Fourth #1 Hot 100 Hit In A Row!
Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" becomes the first album in more than six years to yield four No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, as "E.T.," featuring Kanye West, rises 2-1 with Airplay Gainer honors.
The space-age love song follows "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, the title cut and "Firework" to the chart's summit, making Perry's second Capitol Records album the first to yield a quartet of Hot 100 No. 1s since Usher's "Confessions" in 2004.
"Teenage Dream" is just the ninth album to produce four No. 1s in the Hot 100's 52-year history. It's the first by a solo female since Mariah Carey's eponymous debut set in 1990-91.
"I am so thrilled that 'E.T.' has landed at No. 1," Perry tells Billboard.com. "I want to thank all the fans who contributed to this amazing feat and radio, which has been an essential part of my continued existence. I truly appreciate all the support of my creative twists and turns."
"Can't wait to share the video with you tomorrow," Perry adds, teasing the premiere of the "E.T." clip at noon ET tomorrow on MTV.com and VEVO.
On Digital Songs, "E.T." spends a third week at No. 1, logging sales of 254,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The song concurrently reaches the top 10 on Radio Songs (13-10; 74 million audience impressions, up 35%, according to Nielsen BDS).
"E.T." is Perry's fifth Hot 100 No. 1. Prior to her current album, her 2008 release "One of the Boys" generated the seven-week leader "I Kissed a Girl."

Jessica Simpson Confirms 'X Factor' Talks
Jessica Simpson has confirmed Internet reports that she has been approached for a judging position on Simon Cowell’s upcoming Fox singing competition show The X Factor.
“They have definitely talked to me about X Factor,” she tells Women’s Wear Daily. “I think it would be a lot of fun. It’s definitely my life. To be a mentor for up-and-coming artists is right up my alley. I would have loved to have a mentor. I love watching people’s dreams come true.”
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Cowell has snapped up L.A. Reid, former chairman of Island Def Jam, as his first judge. “Even though a lot of people won't know who he is, he is actually a fascinating guy and I think a lot of people will like the fact that they're discovering him on the show,” Cowell recently told the Huffington Post of Reid.
As for casting the other judges – former American Idol judge Paula Abdul and George Michael have all been rumored additions — Cowell said it’s been “an interesting process.”
At the end of the day, Cowell told HP, “you trust your gut feeling to put together a panel that's going to work, and the most important thing is, people will decide, once they watch the show, whether we've made the right decision or the wrong decision.”
The other judges are expected to be announced within the next few weeks. The X Factor debuts on Fox in September.
